Falcons win in straight sets over DVC
Despite resting two key players with nagging injuries, the Falcons defeated Diablo Valley in straight sets on Friday night at Falcon Gym, 25-11, 25-17, 25-20. Big 8 kills leader Caitlin Dillon and FLC blocks leader Alicia Wilson both sat out Friday's match, hoping to get healthy before the playoffs begin in 2+ weeks. The Falcons responded with an excellent match, led by 'do-everything' Kennedy Crawford. Crawford's stats line included 10 kills, 5 service aces, 17 assists, 4 digs, and 1 block. Crawford wasn't alone, though, as Kristen Whitney and Valerie Hutton both stepped up their game as well. Mae Faraimo also contributed with 10 assists, 10 digs, and 2 service aces. The Falcons (16-7 overall, 9-4 in Big 8) are currently tied for 3rd place in the Big 8 with Delta with just three matches remaining in the regular season. They'll host American River on Wednesday night at Falcon Gym, then travel to Sac City on Friday.
