Falcons open 2018 with straight-set win over Ohlone

The Folsom Lake College women's volleyball team got their season off on the right foot on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated a tough Ohlone College squad in straight sets, 25-21, 25-22, 25-11 in Fremont.  With just two returnees from the 2017 state-tournament team, the young Falcon squad made an impressive debut in the opener of the Renegade Classic Tournament.  Sophomore defensive specialist Deonna Robinson has stepped up as a leader while improving her overall game from last year.  The Falcons no longer have All-Everything Kylie Haverson, but instead have a core group of players that are already playing well as a team.  Setters Kennedy Crawford, Mae Faraimo, and Taylor Coate distributed the ball well in the victory over Ohlone, and coach Matt Torrez was pleased with the progress the team has made in just a short time.

The Falcons' home opener is set for Saturday, Sept 8 against Lassen College at 1:00 pm.
