Women’s tennis defeats Santa Rosa in Big 8 playoffs

The FLC women's tennis team took care of business Thursday afternoon as they defeated Santa Rosa 6-3 in a Big 8 Conference playoff match at the FLC Tennis Complex, earning the Falcons a trip to American River College next week with the Big 8 title on the line.  Freshmen Abriana Rowe and Erin Cline were the dual winners for the Falcons, winning in both singles and doubles.  Rowe combined with teammate Ella Zagorenko to defeat Santa Rosa's pesky #1 doubles pair, 9-7, while Cline teamed with sophomore Arielle Frank at #2 doubles to win 8-5.  The Falcons now advance to the Big 8 championship match next week against American River, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday afternoon (weather permitting) at ARC.
