Women's Tennis Falls to DeAnza in NorCal playoffs

The Falcons entered Tuesday's NorCal Regional Dual Team playoff as the sixth seed, playing at number three DeAnza College in Cupertino.  In the opening doubles matches, the Falcons would get just one victory as the #2 pair of Anjelica and Arielle Frank won 8-4.  In the ensuing singles, the Dons' supremacy began to shine as they won at number one, two, and five and thus clinching the victory.  Although the Falcons had leads in two of the remaining unfinished matches, the final outcome had already been determined so all unfinished matches were halted.  While it was a disappointing finish to their season, the team was realistic in their expectations against a traditional tennis powerhouse such as DeAnza.  "We held our own and have nothing to be ashamed of," remarked coach Craig Perez.  "This team has come such a long way, and with only two sophomores leaving us, we should be even better next year."
