Falcons roll past Diablo Valley

The Falcons didn't waste any time on Friday afternoon in Pleasant Hill, where they scored five first-half goals - including four in the first 15 minutes - to roll past Diablo Valley, 8-0.  Taylor Curtis struck first for the Falcons with her 7th goal of the season, a left-footed shot from the top of the box just seven minutes into the match.  Avery Pieri added to her team-leading total with two goals in the next five minutes, giving her 15 for the season.  Nyah Attaway scored the first of her two goals just three minutes later at the 15-minute mark, and with that the runaway was on.  Maggie Munoz added a second-half goal, and freshmen Kayla Garcia and Kaiden James each scored their first goal of the season for the Falcons as Coach Ribaudo found playing time for his entire roster.  Freshman goalkeeper Sydney Rivera recorded the shutout, her third solo shutout of the season.

The Falcons (12-0-3 overall, 6-0-1 in Big 8) will finish off their Big 8 regular-season schedule on Tuesday afternoon in Rocklin against Sierra (12-2 overall, 6-1 in Big 8) in a showdown for the 2nd seed in the Big 8 Conference Tournament, which begins on Friday.
