Just another dominating win for the Falcons…

Utilizing a starting lineup consisting mostly of reserves, the Folsom Lake women's soccer team defeated Sacramento City College on Tuesday night in Sacramento, 8-0.  Freshman Shayla Merene got the Falcons started early with a quick goal in the first minute of play, but the offense went stagnant for most of the rest of the first half.  The Falcons appeared flat playing against the Big 8's last-place team (the Panthers are 0-15 in conference), but head coach Donny Ribaudo gave his team an earful at halftime.  With renewed motivation, the Falcons scored six goals over the final 45 minutes, including three by Big 8 scoring leader Andrea Martinez (she now has 24 for the season).  Shayla Merene scored her second goal early in the 2nd half, while Keionna Claypoole, Britney Johnson, and Vanessa Cisneros each added solo goals.  Freshman reserve goalkeeper Ryanne Chapman played the entire match and earned the shutout for the Falcons.  After Friday's final regular season match at Delta (in Stockton), the Falcons will wait to learn their playoff seeding and opponent.
