Falcons remain unbeaten after shutout win over Sierra

Tuesday  afternoon's showdown for first place in the Big 8 Conference resulted in another dominant performance by the Falcons as they defeated Sierra College, 3-0, in Rocklin.  The Falcons again struck early with a goal by Tiara Webb in the fifth minute, then took advantage of a Sierra penalty to score a PK goal by Andrea Martinez ten minutes later to go up 2-0.  With a two goal cushion, the Falcons were able to control the match from there, eventually adding another Martinez goal (her 17th of the season) early in the second half.  The win extends the Falcons' Big 8 lead over Sierra and American River to four points (3 for a win, 1 for a tie) and improves their overall season record to 10-0-1.  The Falcons will host Sacramento City College on Friday at 3:30 in the opener of a men's/women's soccer doubleheader at Falcon Stadium.
