Falcons open season with 10-0 blowout

The defending Big 8 champion FLC women opened their season with a blowout win as they embarked on a two-game road trip to the Bay Area, defeating Cabrillo College on Friday night in Aptos, 10-0.  The Falcons jumped out to a quick lead as freshman Riley Spitzer scored her first two collegiate goals in the first 10 minutes of play.  Sophomore Andrea Martinez tallied three goals, then added a late assist to lead the Falcons' scoring. Sophomore transfer Tiara Webb had a goal and three assists in the victory, while sophomore goalkeeper Valerie Ovorodnikov earned her first shutout.
