Women's Soccer Ready For Season

Head Coach Donny Ribaudo begins his fourth season at the helm of the Falcons, having compiled a record of 55 wins, 9 losses, and 5 ties in three years.  His Falcon teams never lost a Bay Valley Conference match in three seasons, going 39-0-3 in BVC play.  With a solid cast of All-Conference players returning, coach Ribaudo hopes to continue his run of success in the Big 8.  Goalkeeper Aubrey Hall, forwards Paige Florio, Hannah O'Donnell, and Leily Ghods, and midfielder Karina Torres all earned All-Conference as freshmen in 2015.  Also returning is 2014 All-Conference forward Paty Navarro.  Sophomore transfers Amber Hicks (outside back, ARC) and Allie Miller (center midfielder, New Mexico State) should provide experience.  It remains to be seen which of the 13 freshmen will have the greatest impact, but several have shown promise in pre-season training.  Those include Megan Trent (red-shirt freshman center back from Woodcreek HS), Mia Evans (center back, El Camino HS), Britney Johnson (forward, Bella Vista HS), and Paige Verneuille (midfielder, Woodcreek HS).  The Falcons will open non-conference play in Falcon Stadium on Saturday, August 27 against Lassen College at 7:00 pm.  They won't have another home match until Friday, September 23, when they return to FLC to take on American River.
