Women Defeat Solano

The FLC women took on Solano College on Friday and returned home with a 4-1 victory.  The Falcons used a flurry of goals midway through the first half to take control of the game, starting with a corner kick from Michelle Kimball in the 20th minute that resulted in a Caitlin Castle header for a goal.  Three minutes later, Paty Navarro's pass found Danielle Otto for a rocket into the net.  And in the 25th minute, Castle crossed a negative pass to the back of the goal box where Sami Thomas put it away.  Just like that, the score went from 0-0 to 3-0 in five minutes.  Solano's lone goal came off a free kick and ensuing crazy scramble in front of the goal in the 80th minute that made the score 3-1.   The only other scoring for FLC came in the 88th minute when Sami took a pass from Danielle and recorded her second goal of the game.  Sami's two goals gave her 12 for the season and earned her Player of the Game honors.  The Falcons improved their overall record to 16-4 and 11-0 in the Bay Valley Conference.  In their 11 BVC games, the women have scored 71 goals and allowed one.  Their final regular season match will be Wednesday at Yuba College at 3:00 pm.
