Falcons Take Flight in Season Opener, Roll Past Chabot 79–47

The Folsom Lake College women's basketball team tipped off the new season with an emphatic statement, cruising past Chabot College 79–47 on the road. The Falcons controlled every quarter, combining balanced scoring, aggressive rebounding, and disciplined defense to start their 2025–26 campaign on a high note.

Dominant Start Fuels Early Lead

From the opening tip, the Falcons set the pace with sharp ball movement and defensive energy. Folsom Lake outscored Chabot 21–9 in the first quarter and never trailed, pushing the lead to 41–22 by halftime. The team's composure and execution stood out — especially for a season opener — as the Falcons efficiently rotated through their lineup without losing rhythm.

Tupou and Clee Lead the Way

Freshman forward Jada Tupou led the charge with a stellar 18-point performance on 9-of-12 shooting, while also pulling down nine rebounds and dishing three assists. Off the bench, Jasmine Clee was nearly perfect, scoring 16 points on 8-of-9 shooting and adding four rebounds and four assists.

The Falcons' balanced attack continued with Sammy Schuler, who contributed 11 points and four rebounds, and Lexi Peters, who filled the stat sheet with 6 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.

Total Team Effort

Every Falcon contributed in the season debut. Kelis Powell brought energy off the bench with 7 points, 3 steals, and 3 assists, while Emily Bowman added 8 points and 5 rebounds inside. Collectively, Folsom Lake outrebounded Chabot 54–32 and tallied 24 assists on 34 made field goals — a reflection of their unselfish, team-first approach.

A Promising Beginning

Folsom Lake shot an efficient 45.9% from the floor and 80% from the free-throw line, while holding Chabot to under 30% shooting. The Falcons' intensity never wavered as they closed out the game with an 18–11 fourth quarter to seal the 32-point victory.

With the win, Folsom Lake opens the season at 1–0, displaying the poise and depth of a team ready to compete at a high level. The Falcons return home next week looking to build on this impressive start.
