The Folsom Lake women's basketball team opened their Big 8 Conference schedule with a comfortable 64-42 win over Cosumnes River on Wednesday night at CRC. The Falcons wasted little time taking control of the game with a 22-point first quarter scoring binge, then took a 20 point lead into halftime (38-18) after allowing just 4 second-quarter points to the Hawks. Falcon coach Ali Mollet substituted liberally as 10 different Falcons logged 10 minutes or more in the blowout. Jasmine Hess came off the bench to lead the Falcons' scoring with 14 points and Daily Applegarth added 13 on 4-of-6 shooting from three-point land. Eva Graf once again made her presence felt in her second start with 11 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Falcons' win was their third straight and upped their record to 5-8 overall. They'll host Modesto (11-1) on Tuesday, Dec 28 at Falcon Gym at 5:30 pm.
