Falcons finish strong in 25-point victory over Yuba

The Folsom Lake women started slow, but eventually found their game and steadily pulled away from visiting Yuba College on Saturday night to win 99-74.  The Falcons trailed 25-14 after the first quarter, then rallied to outscore the 49ers 34-21 in the 2nd period for their highest scoring quarter of the season.  The two-point halftime lead grew to 10 after three quarters before the Falcons turned out the lights with a 31-point final quarter.

Sophomore Jasmine Hess, finally back from injury, led the Falcons in scoring with 22 points and was 6-of-8 from beyond the three point line.  Freshman Reya Lee continued her impressive early season with 15 points, and sharpshooter Daily Applegarth hit three 3's on her way to 13 points.  Amani Britton was a force in the paint and recorded her first collegiate double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  All 13 available Falcon players saw significant playing time with 11 scoring at least three points.

The win was the Falcons' third of the young season and their largest margin of victory thus far.  The Falcons (3-8) will next host Solano (5-6) on Thursday evening at Falcon Gym at 6:00 pm.
