Falcons give Sierra a scare

With an unbeaten record of 21-0 and ranked number one in California, the Sierra College women could easily have been unconcerned about their opponent on Friday night.  But the Folsom Lake Falcons definitely got the Wolverines' attention when they took a 4-point lead early in the 3rd quarter.  The Wolverines proceeded to regain the lead and control of the game as they pulled away to a 83-65 victory, but not before the Falcons served notice that they can play with anyone.  A balanced Falcon scoring attack was led by Alma Perez with 20 points, Faith Wilson with 14, and Angelina Contreras and Abby Malekos with 12 each.  This week, the Falcons (1-8 in Big 8 Conference, 4-14 overall) will host Santa Rosa (3-6, 7-12) on Tuesday night, then play at American River (5-4, 14-7) on Friday.
