Falcons come up short against Redwoods

The FLC women's basketball team closed their 2017-18 non-conference schedule on Friday afternoon with a close 81-77 loss to College of the Redwoods in the 2nd round of the Santa Rosa Tournament.  The Falcons were down by six at half, and then trailed by 12 points after three quarters, but this team does not give up.  They rallied in the fourth quarter and actually took a one point lead halfway through the final period, before Redwoods recovered their defense intensity and made some late critical stops.  Angelina Contreras led all Falcons with 30 points while Faith Wilson added 17.  Megan Macheel scored a season-high 11 in the loss.

The Falcons will take a 10-day break from games to prepare for their Big 8 Conference opener on Wednesday, December 20 against Sierra at Falcon Gym.
