February 22, 2025 – Sierra College
Folsom Lake College put together a dominant performance on Saturday, securing back-to-back wins against Sierra College with scores of 4-1 and 6-2. The Falcons' disciplined hitting, aggressive baserunning, and solid pitching proved to be the difference-makers in both matchups.
Game 1: Folsom Lake Controls the Pace in a 4-1 Victory

Pitcher Marianna Prieto was a force in the circle, throwing a complete game while allowing just one run on seven hits. She kept Sierra's offense off balance, walking only two batters and striking out one.
Despite collecting seven hits, Sierra struggled to capitalize on their opportunities. Iris Perez drove in their lone run in the bottom of the seventh, but it was too little, too late as Folsom Lake held on for the win.
Game 2: Folsom Lake Completes the Sweep with a 6-2 Win
Folsom Lake carried their momentum into the second game, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Mia Griffith played a key role, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and two runs scored. Hailey Permenter, Annika Scheafer, Grace Diaz, and Sophia Nielsen each contributed RBIs, ensuring steady run production throughout the game.
Mary Franceschi started on the mound for the Falcons and delivered four strong innings, allowing just two runs on three hits. Prieto returned to pitch the final three innings, shutting down Sierra's offense completely and securing the sweep.
Sierra struggled to generate consistent offense, managing just three hits in the game. Pitching inconsistencies and defensive errors also hurt their chances of a comeback, as Folsom Lake capitalized on opportunities to extend their lead.
