Falcons Win Big 8 Opener

Folsom- Game Recap: Folsom Lake College Falcons vs. Sierra College Wolverines

In the first Big 8 Conference game of the season, the Folsom Lake College Falcons faced off against the Sierra College Wolverines. The Falcons entered the game with a non-conference record of 5-9.

The Falcons showcased an effective offensive performance. Isabella Robinson, Clare Yanez, Summer Lagomarsino, and Hannah Bunch contributed hits for the Falcons. Miranda Morelos had a standout performance, driving in two runs with a key single.

Aila Lyden started as the pitcher for Folsom Lake and delivered an outstanding complete-game shutout. Lyden allowed five hits, walked one, and struck out seven Sierra batters. She efficiently navigated the Wolverines' lineup, throwing 92 pitches, 61 of which were strikes.

The scoring started in the second inning when Hannah Bunch doubled, bringing in Summer Lagomarsino. Miranda Morelos followed up with a single, scoring Bunch and giving the Falcons a 2-0 lead. In the fifth inning, Clare Yanez added another run with a sacrifice fly, bringing in Isabella Robinson. The Falcons extended their lead in the sixth inning as Morelos singled again, bringing in Kamora Baptiste.

The final score of the game was Folsom Lake 4, Sierra 0. The Falcons improved their overall record to 6-9 and secured an important victory in their first Big 8 Conference game of the season.
