The #10 seeded Folsom Lake softball team pulled off their second shocker of the weekend on Saturday afternoon when they shut out #7 seeded Fresno City, 1-0, in the deciding game of their best-of-three series in Fresno. After the Falcons' 3-0 win oin Friday's opener, the Rams bounced back with a 7-3 victory in game 2, setting up the 'win or go home' scenario for the finale. The Falcons struck right away in the first inning when Adriana Gonzalez singled home Taylor Eby from second base with what would be the only run of the game. Gonzalez - as pitcher - would then proceed to shut down the Rams on three hits while allowing just one baserunner to reach second base.
The Falcons will next face #2 seeded Butte on Friday and Saturday in Oroville. The Roadrunners (41-1) beat the Falcons twice (2-0, 6-1) back in January to open the season.
