Falcon men roll past CRC, 8-1

Playing in the first round of the Big 8 Conference-North team playoffs, the Folsom Lake men's tennis team soundly defeated Cosumnes River on Tuesday afternoon at FLC's Lorimer-Bruns Tennis Complex, 8-1.  The Falcons got double wins (winners of both singles and doubles matches) from four players: Diego Rodriguez, Brodie Rogers, Chandu Kathi, and Justin Allen.  By virtue of their victory,  the Falcons will face tennis powerhouse American River on Friday for the Big 8-North title.

Singles

  1. Diego Rodriguez won 6-1, 6-0
  2. Clark Chen lost 1-6, 3-6
  3. Brodie Rogers won 6-3, 6-1
  4. Chandu Kathi won 6-1, 6-0
  5. Justin Allen won 6-1, 7-5
  6. Tildnn Mayer won 6-3, 6-2

Doubles

  1. Rodriguez/Oseguerra won 8-2
  2. Kathi/Rogers won 8-1
  3. Allen/Chen won 8-0

The Falcon will busy this week, hosting a non-conference match against Chabot on Thursday, playing at ARC on Friday, then at Modesto on Saturday.
