NorCal playoffs: Modesto eliminates Falcons

The FLC men's tennis team entered the Regional playoffs as the #4 seeded team, but couldn't use the home court to their advantage as they fell to the visiting Pirates, 8-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Tennis Complex.  Playing without their #2 player due to illness, the Falcons put up a good fight but ultimately lost too many close matches.  Two of the singles matches went three sets, and all three doubles were close until the end.  "We were definitely at a disadvantage without Dan," noted head coach Patrick Rutz, referring to Dan Alves.  "With him, this is a different match.  But the guys gave it a good effort; we were in every match."  The men finished the 'team' portion of their season with a 9-3 overall record.
