Falcons Fall to Cosumnes River in Tough Road Match

Folsom Lake College battled through a tough afternoon on the road Tuesday, falling 4–0 to Cosumnes River in Big 8 Conference play. Despite conceding three early goals, the Falcons refused to fold, showing determination and composure throughout the second half.

Cosumnes River capitalized on its early chances, taking a 3–0 lead by halftime. But from that point on, Folsom Lake settled in defensively, tightening their shape and limiting the Hawks to just two shots after the break.

The Falcons created several quality opportunities of their own, generating seven total shots—four of them on goal—and maintaining steady offensive pressure with four corner kicks. Midfielders Esmatullah Yawari, Matthew Edge, and Eric Herasymchuk each challenged the Cosumnes River goalkeeper, while Ty Hunter continued to anchor the back line and push play forward in transition.

Goalkeeper Fernando Garcia played the full 90 minutes and remained composed under pressure, organizing the defense as the Falcons regained control of possession in the second half.

Though the scoreline didn't reflect the Falcons' effort, their competitive energy and response after a difficult first half demonstrated the team's resilience and focus heading into the final stretch of conference play.

The Falcons will look to bounce back in their next match as they continue to push toward postseason contention.
