The Folsom Lake men's soccer team endured a long, hot ride to Clovis on Tuesday, but couldn't muster the energy or drive to outplay their opponent. The Clovis Crush were one step faster and one pass quicker throughout their match and the result was a 2-1 victory for Clovis. The Crush took an early lead when they scored just nine minutes into the match, then added another goal midway through the second half. The Falcons avoided the shutout when freshman Bryce Pando found the net for an unassisted goal in the 78th minute.
FLC coach Justin Johnson made no excuses for his team, saying, "We were outplayed. They wanted it more than we did. Hopefully we learn from it and are better prepared next time."
The Falcons will hope to regroup before they head to Oroville on Friday to play Butte College at 4:00 pm.
