Falcons remain undefeated with win at Butte

The FLC men's soccer team earned their fourth victory – and third shutout – of the season on Friday afternoon with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Butte College in hot Oroville.   When the Falcons started quickly and controlled the tempo early, it looked like it would be an easy day for the visitors.  In the 15th minute, freshman forward Freddie Allen delivered a through ball to Kameron Kascht, and the sophomore forward put it in the net for a 1-0 lead.  As the half wore on and the score remained at 1-0, the Falcons began to suffer from the intense heat.  Sensing fatigue, the Roadrunners gained some confidence and increased the attack.  Still, neither team could find the net.  The second half was a pure battle with both teams having scoring chances and both goalkeepers making big saves.  The Falcon defense never caved in, and freshman keeper Joshua Moya got the shutout victory while freshman midfielder Armando Jimenez earned "Man of the Match" with his versatile play on both sides of the ball.
