Men’s soccer surprises Fresno with 2-2 tie

Facing the number 2 ranked team in California, the Falcons used a late goal by sophomore Chase Gray (his second of the match) to earn a 2-2 tie with Fresno City College on Friday afternoon at Falcon Stadium.  The non-conference match was a back-and-forth affair, with the two teams trading goals after Fresno first scored late in the opening half.  Chase Gray got the Falcons on the board early in the second half with his first goal, making it 1-1.  When the Rams took the lead midway through the second half with their second goal, the outcome did not look positive for the Falcons.  But Gray found the net with just minutes to play to give his team the hard-earned draw.  The Falcons improved to 12-2-3 overall, but more importantly, proved they could play with any team in the state.  They have a bye on Tuesday, but will return to Big 8 action on Friday when they travel to Modesto.
