Men's Soccer Tie At Yuba

"We didn't lose, but it sure felt like we did."  Those were the words of Falcon head coach Justin Johnson after his men squandered a 2-0 lead, allowing two 49er goals in the final 10 minutes in their match at Yuba College on Tuesday afternoon.  With early goals by freshman Alex Casal and sophomore Carter Berry, the Falcons had dominated play for 75 + minutes, controlling the tempo and possession time while leading 2-0.  But Yuba made some late-game adjustments to their attack that caught the Falcons off guard and the game ended in a 2-2 tie.  After playing so well and staring at a victory, the tie was a tough pill to swallow.  "We will learn from this, and be better because of it," noted coach Johnson.  Their next chance to erase the lingering nightmare will be tomorrow (Friday), when the team travels to Gilroy to take on Gavilan College at 4:00 pm.
