Folsom Lake Fends Off Panthers for Key Home Victory

The Folsom Lake College Falcons secured a crucial home victory over Sacramento City College on Tuesday night, edging out the Panthers 90-84 in a closely contested matchup. With the win, the Falcons improve to 8-14 on the season and 3-7 in conference play, matching the Panthers' conference record.

The Falcons jumped out to an early lead, finishing the first half with a 44-36 advantage. Despite Sacramento City's relentless push in the second half, Folsom Lake held firm to close out the game and secure the victory.

Leading the charge for the Falcons was Miko Bear, who delivered a dominant performance with 29 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Bear's efficiency at the free-throw line (11-for-12) proved vital in keeping the Falcons ahead down the stretch.

Logan Rexford also played a crucial role, tallying 21 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including two three-pointers. He went 7-for-8 from the charity stripe, showcasing his ability to convert key free throws. Miles Lake contributed 12 points and four rebounds, while Micah Hobson added 11 points and two assists.

Defensively, the Falcons were aggressive, collecting eight steals as a team. Bear led the way with four steals, while Colin Billy added two of his own. Their defensive effort helped limit the Panthers' offensive flow and create transition opportunities.

Sacramento City put up a strong fight, outscoring Folsom Lake 48-46 in the second half. However, the Falcons' efficiency from the free-throw line (81.8%) and timely defensive stops ultimately made the difference.

Folsom Lake will look to build on this momentum as they continue their conference schedule. With a newfound energy and a balanced offensive attack, the Falcons have positioned themselves for a strong finish to the season.
