Falcons Unable to Put Panthers Away

Sacramento - In a match-up that saw the Falcons control the game for the first 35 minutes and then have a scoring drought before losing the contest 81-71 had a little of the same dreary feel and saw the Falcons come up short by a final of 95-82 in Sacramento City's North Gym last night.

It was Sacramento City's sophomore night so a little bit was out of sorts as they celebrated their sophomores.  Both teams came out a little sluggish and couldn't connect on easy shots that normally fall.  It had the feel that it was going to be one of those games where the team that was able to turn things around the quickest would have the upper hand and be able to grab control.  The Falcons found it very difficult to connect on shots and through the first 6+ minutes only had four points on the board.  Needless to say, the first half was a challenge and at the break, the Falcons found themselves down by a score of 44-29.  The Falcons never found themselves with a lead and went to the locker room trying to figure out how to get back in the game.

In the second half, the Falcons came out with a little more energy and were able to string a few baskets together to cut the deficit down to 11 but the Panthers were able to answer back and regain control.  The Falcons fought hard but had a game plan to contain the Panthers top 3 scorers which was a tall task and a fourth player chipped in the help out the home team secure the victory by the 13 point margin.  The Falcons will try to rebound for their last game of the season on Friday during sophomore night against Sierra College.
