Falcon Defense Prevails Over Wolverines

Rocklin - In a match-up that was split in the 2022-23 season, the visiting Falcons grabbed the first one on the road this season by a final of 79-52.

The start time for the game was unusual, 2:00 pm, but maybe since it was closer to when the Falcons practiced each day, they were in their element and came out ready to go!  The first half saw a few spurts by both teams with the first coming by the Falcons.  The Falcons came out very focused defensively and were able to stack stops when needed, and the offense was rolling right out the gate.  The Falcons built a good lead in the first four minutes of the game (10-0) and kept that lead for the first eight minutes until the Wolverines woke up and got on a roll of their own.  Sierra came at the Falcons with a flurry of baskets to tighten the game and even tying the score and taking the lead.  After a few timeouts to settle things down, the Falcons were able to regain control and go into the half with a 41-33 lead.  Te'And Indalecio had the hot hand where he scored all 19 of his points in the first frame.

The second half saw more of the same action by the Falcons.  The focus of this game was defense, and the Falcons were able to successfully accomplish that goal by only giving up 19 points to the Wolverines in the second half.  This game allowed everyone who was in uniform and available to see game action.  The scoring efforts were balanced throughout the game as the Falcons were able to score 38 points in the second half and hopefully get on the right track heading into the second half of conference play when they take on the Bear Cubs at home on Friday.
