Falcons Unable to End Losing Streak in Loss to Hawks

Folsom, CA - The Falcons (4-12, 0-4 Big-8) were determined to end their losing streak against the visiting Cosumnes River College, Hawks (9-8, 3-2 Big-8), but it wasn't meant to be as the Falcons suffer their fourth consecutive Big-8 Conference loss 69-63.

Following the game, Head Coach, Bill Benford said, "We thought we had a good game plan to get off of this losing slide, but we just couldn't get into a rhythm offensively, and scoring was intermittent." The Falcons were only able to muster 25 points in the first half while the Hawks were able to score 32. This marked the fourth time the Falcons were held under 30 points in the first half during conference play. So far, FLC has averaged 24.5 points in the first half while conceding an average of 31.75 points to conference opponents.

"Te'And Indalecio did a good job of facilitating the game and finding his place in the scoring column, but we were missing scoring from some of our other guys who we typically lean on offensively," said Benford. The Falcons, who had three players with double-digits in the scoring column – Dane Johnson with 17 points, Te'And Indalecio with 13 points, and Allan Davis, Jr. with 11 points – were able to outscore the Hawks in the second half (37-38), but overall had a below-average night from the field, shooting just 33.9% (21/62).

One quarter of the way through the Big-8 conference schedule, the Falcons find themselves in last place in the conference standings but look to turn things around on the road as they begin a three-game road slate against Modesto Junior College, American River College, and Sacramento City College. The Falcons' next home game is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th as they face Sierra College at 5:30 pm.
