Falcons edged at Marin

The Falcons traveled to Kentfield on Wednesday for a non-conference game at College of Marin, but came home with a narrow loss, 76-73.  The Falcon offense was clicking, shooting 47% for the night and 62% from 3-point range, but the defense was absent.  The teams battled back and forth throughout the game, but it was the Mariners who grabbed a three point lead with 14 seconds to play.  After a Falcon timeout, the Mariners – who had a foul to give – fouled with 8 seconds to go.  The ensuing inbounds pass went to freshman Pierce Rexford, who in the act of trying to dribble free, stepped on the baseline for a game-ending turnover.   Sophomore Clayton Davis led the team in scoring with 16 points while Everett Campbell added 15.

The Falcons will hope to return to winning on Saturday when they visit College of Alameda at 4:00 pm.
