Home not so sweet for Falcons

Riding a two-game winning streak and having won four of their last five games, the FLC men's basketball team had reason for optimism going into Friday night's home game against Sierra College.  But the Wolverines had different ideas and held off the Falcons' second-half comeback, 64-61.   The Falcons struggled with their long-range shooting, hitting just 2 of 13 from beyond the arc, but managed to shoot 52% from elsewhere on the floor.  The Wolverines out-rebounded the Falcons, 39-28, and probably won the game with second-chance points from their 14 offensive rebounds.   A strong second half got the Falcons back in the game,  but the game winning shots wouldn't fall.   Zethan Dumpson led the Falcons with 21 points, while Will Fitzpatrick added 18.

The Falcons will play at Santa Rosa (14-5, 5-2 in Big 8) on Tuesday night, which might be a blessing: the Falcons are currently 2-1 in Big 8 road games while going 1-3 in their own Falcon Gym.
