Pirates' depth proves too much for the Falcons

The FLC men, fresh off their first Big 8 victory (against Sac City last Saturday), had hopes of grabbing another win on Tuesday night at Falcon Gym, but the Modesto Pirates had other ideas as they pulled away for a convincing 113-86 win.  The shorthanded Falcons – down to 6 players due to academic restrictions – did not have the depth to keep up with the Pirates, who used a full court press and a smothering trapping defense to stifle the home team.  The Pirates sank 18 three-pointers on their way to the highest point total the Falcons have allowed this season.  For the home team, Zethan Dumpson provided 34 points in a losing cause while Isiah Maun added 25 points and pulled down 15 rebounds.  6'7" forward Alex Clingan had his best collegiate game, scoring 12 points in the paint.  The Falcons (1-7 conference, 2-15 overall) will next take on Sierra (4-4, 9-10) on Friday night in Rocklin at 5:30.
