The opening round of the Skyline Tournament did not go as hoped for the FLC men's basketball team as they lost to West Valley 78-49 on Friday afternoon. The Falcons hung tough in the first half, but found themselves trailing by 11 (41-30) at the break. In the second half, the Falcons just never got in sync as the Vikings pulled away for a decisive 29-point victory. Isiah Maun led the Falcons with 17 points, while Alex Clingan scored a season-high eight.
The Falcons will face College of the Siskiyous in Saturday afternoon's 2nd-round game, with hopes of making it to the Consolation Finals on Sunday.
