Falcons Flex Muscle in Opening Series, Take Two of Three from Diablo Valley

The Folsom Lake Falcons soared with a statement, claiming two of three games against the Diablo Valley Vikings in yet another conference series. Behind explosive hitting, timely pitching, and a balanced offensive attack, the Falcons proved why they're a team to watch this spring.

The Falcons wasted no time asserting themselves in the first game of the series, pounding out 17 hits en route to a convincing 10–4 victory over Diablo Valley.

Micah Kendrick led the charge, blasting two home runs and driving in three runs on a 3-for-5 night. Asa Martinez added a pair of hits and three RBIs, while Connor Barth went a perfect 4-for-5 with an RBI. Michael Ryan also chipped in with a 2-RBI single as part of a five-run third inning that broke the game wide open.

Starting pitcher Andy Uharriet earned the win, tossing 5.1 innings and allowing just two earned runs. The bullpen held firm with Andrew Balentine and Nick Haas closing out the final 3.2 innings.

April 17: Vikings Stun Falcons in Extras

Diablo Valley 8, Folsom Lake 6 (10 innings)

In a dramatic back-and-forth affair, the Vikings edged out the Falcons in extra innings to even the series. Folsom Lake held a 5–3 lead after a four-run fourth inning, fueled by a clutch 2-RBI double from Justin Menesini and a 2-RBI triple by Trajan Rogowski.

But Diablo Valley refused to go quietly, tying the game with two runs in the ninth before Zac Ragland launched a go-ahead two-run homer in the 10th.

Despite a solid showing at the plate—including 10 hits and six different players scoring—Folsom Lake's bullpen faltered late. Noah Madsen was tagged with the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) over the final two innings.

Folsom Lake bounced back in the rubber match, using a five-run first inning to put the Vikings on their heels early. Julian Clevelle drove in three runs, including a 2-RBI double, while Connor Barth mirrored him with three RBIs of his own, capping his day with a bases-clearing double.

Micah Kendrick remained red-hot, going 3-for-5 with a double and three runs scored. Asa Martinez added a triple and RBI, and Adam Reyes swiped a bag while going 2-for-4 with an RBI.

The Falcons' pitching staff pieced together a solid outing, with Nick Haas picking up the win and Andrew Balentine logging key outs in relief.

Series Standouts:

With the series win, Folsom Lake moves to 13-8 in conference, showing depth on offense and promise on the mound. They'll look to keep the momentum going as they head into the next stretch of conference play.
