Falcon baseball team opens final week with lopsided win

The Folsom Lake baseball team opened their final series of the season with a convincing 15-7 win over Diablo Valley College on Tuesday afternoon in Pleasant Hill.  The Falcons pounded out 18 hits, seven of which went for extra bases as they raised their team batting average to .292.  With a five-run first inning and three-run innings in the 5th, 6th, and 9th , the Falcons' offense scored off of six of the eight Viking pitchers they faced.  First baseman Jack Rotteveel had two doubles among his three hits, shortstop Nicola Mislinski was three-for-four with a double, and left fielder Greg Vaughn and designated hitter Aidan Malm both homered for the third time this season.  The Falcons' bullpen of Coleman Harrigan, Cody Lindsey, Zach Martin, Nolan Murphy, and Austin Beard held the Vikings to one run over the final five innings.

The Falcons will host the Vikings on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm for their final home game of 2017, then close out the season at DVC on Friday.
