In Saturday's opening match of the Folsom Lake Classic Tournament, the visiting West Valley Vikings showed why they are the #2 ranked team in California, winning 25-20, 25-17, 25-11. In the opening set, the Falcons looked primed to pull off an upset with their hustle and grit, but the Vikings took the final four points of the set. The second set again showed that the Falcons can play with anybody, but eventually the Vikings wore them down. The final set was mostly a formality with West Valley holding a comfortable lead throughout.
Saturday's final match pitted the state's #4 ranked team, Feather River, against the Falcons. The first set was similar to the previous match, with the Falcons hanging right with the Golden Eagles. But a run of service points separated the two and the Eagles never looked back, winning 25-15, 25-13, 25-12.
