Falcons fall to Feather River in playoffs

The Falcons, who finished third in the highly competitive Big 8, were seeded #7 in the north and played host to #10 seeded Feather River, the Golden Valley Conference champion, on Tuesday, November 20.  The teams had previously played in September, with Feather River winning a close match by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, and 25-20.  Once again, the evenly matched teams played another nail-biter with the Golden Eagles coming out on top, 26-24, 28-26, 17-25, and 25-17.   The Falcons had chances to win either of the first two sets, but could not finish and it wound up costing them dearly.   The Falcons had no answer for the Golden Eagles' Chloe Hampton, who dominated play at the net in the final set and finished with 17 kills.  FLC middle blocker Alicia Wilson had one of her best games, tallying 13 kills and 4 blocks, and outside hitter Caitlin Dillon also had 13 kills, 12 digs, and 3 blocks.

The young Falcons – 12 of their 15 players are freshmen -  finished the season with an overall record of 19-8.  With that much talent returning in 2019, the future looks bright for FLC volleyball.
