Volleyball defeats ARC in 4 sets
The Falcons closed out the first half of the Big 8 schedule on Friday night with a 3-1 victory over district rival American River at Falcon Gym. The Falcons won the opening set, 25-16, before dropping the second, 21-25. With the Beavers now energized, the third set stayed close with the Falcons eventually winning 25-22. The Falcons opened a big lead in the final set, then coasted to a 25-18 win. Kylie Haverson – the Big 8 leader in kills with 252 - led the team with 13 kills. Rylyn Campbell easily had her best match as a Falcon, recording 8 kills and 8 blocks. The win, coupled with Delta's loss to Sierra on Friday night, allowed the Falcons to regain a share of the Big 8 lead at 7-1. They'll face Diablo Valley in Pleasant Hill on Wednesday before hosting Cosumnes River on Friday night at Falcon Gym.
