Women's Soccer Gets Huge Road Win vs. Mendocino

In a physical game that saw one Mendocino player ejected with a red card, the Falcon women maintained their composure and wore down the frustrated Eagles.  Michelle Kimball started the scoring in the 35th minute with an outside shot off an assist from Alexis Wallace.  The score remained at 1-0 until midway through the second half when an opportunistic Sami Thomas scored on a rebound after Wallace banged one off the goalkeeper.  In the 86th minute, Caitlin Castle took a nifty pass from Paty Navarro and beat her defender for the Falcons' final goal.    "We managed to keep our heads cool, which was the difference in the game," noted FLC coach Donny Ribaudo.  "I was really proud of the way our team responded to the physicality of the game.  Keeping our composure was the key."  With their eighth consecutive win, the Falcons improved their overall record to 12-3 and 7-0 in the Bay Valley Conference while increasing their conference lead to six points over second-place Mendocino.
