Verlin Commits to University of Saint Katherine
Congratulations to Sydnee Verlin, who has committed to play softball at The University of Saint Katherine (USK)! The Firebirds compete in the NAIA, California Pacific Conference (Cal-Pac).
Sydnee came to FLC from Moscow, Idaho and shared an apartment with her Falcon teammate, Mikaela Pamplona, who will also be attending USK. Sydnee finished her spring semester at FLC with a 4.0 GPA while graduating with a Business Administration Degree.
In her 1st year, she played first base and led the charge in defeating Sierra College with a triple that scored 2 runs and then later scored herself. She served as a tremendous servant leader and played a large part in the Falcons success of attending playoffs and super regionals for the first time in school history.
In Sydnee's second season, she continued to lead, right where she left off, as Team 8's unofficial team captain. She tied for the lead in homeruns, and led the way by going 2 for 2, with 2 RBI's in the Falcons win versus Cosumnes River. Her positivity, energy and influence on her teammates promoted FLC to the most successful year yet.
