Falcons lose both ends of doubleheader at Sierra

The Folsom Lake softball team played a unique doubleheader at Sierra on Tuesday; the Falcons were the home team for the first game - a makeup of their rained out game at FLC from March 19 - before playing their regularly-scheduled game as visitors.  The Falcon bats were silenced by the Wolverines as they managed just six total hits in the two games combined and lost, 7-2 and 6-2.

In the opener, Falcon pitcher Adriana Gonzalez was locked in a scoreless pitchers duel for four innings before errors and hits led to four Sierra runs.  The Wolverines extended that lead to seven runs before the Falcons responded with two runs in the seventh inning.

Wolverine pitching continued their dominance in game two, allowing just four Falcon hits.  Two of those were off the bat of sophomore centerfielder Olivia Dominguez, but the Falcons struggled to score runs against the Wolverine pitching tandem of Jada Bolar and Amaya Sutton.

The Falcons (19-18 overall, 9-16 in Big 8) will host their final home games of the season on Saturday with a doubleheader against American River (18-18, 9-12 Big 8), then finish the regular season next Tuesday at Santa Rosa.
