The undefeated FLC women's softball team continued their magical early-season ride on Tuesday, winning both ends of their evening doubleheader over visiting Solano College by scores of 3-1 and 1-0 at Falcon Diamond.  Pitching and defense were the keys to the victories with both Falcon starters pitching complete games.  In the opener, sophomore Gigi Mendez kept Solano off balance while the defense made plays behind her.  Meanwhile, aggressive baserunning and just enough hitting led to three runs for the home team.  In the night game, freshman lefty Kelsey Wurm shut out the visitors for the Falcons' eighth win of the season.  Neither team managed much offense, but the Falcons' first-inning run held up.

The Falcons will hope to build on their outstanding start on Friday when they host two teams in a three-way round robin.  They'll face Porterville at 10:00 am, then take on Shasta at 2:15 pm.
