Falcons welcome all challengers in 2020

The Folsom Lake College softball team, after a dissatisfying 2019 season, is eager to get their 2020 season started.  Second-year head coach Amber Grahlman brought in 13 new players in her first full year of recruiting and looks to make the Falcons into one of the top teams in the highly competitve Big 8 Conference.  The Falcons will play 21 of their 39 games against teams that finished in the top 16 in NorCal in 2019, including three games against each of four Big 8 playoff teams.  They will also travel to the Bay Area on President's Weekend to play San Jose City and Foothill, and will play Fresno City in Fresno in April.

Sophomore returnees Sunshine Corral (2nd base), Gigi Mendez (pitcher), and Valerie Garcia (left field) will provide the leadership for the Falcons.  Freshmen who are expected to be impact players include Arianna Riojas (shortstop, Lincoln HS of Stockton), Jailene Salciedo (pitcher, Carson City, Nevada), and Emma Gaytan (catcher, East Nicholas HS).

The Falcons will open their season on Saturday, January 25 with a doubleheader against Butte College at Falcon Diamond.
