Falcons rally, then fumble away chance for win

In game two, Butte took an early lead with three runs in the first, but the Falcons answered back with one in the second, three in the third, and another one in the fourth for a 5-3 lead.  The Roadrunners responded with two in the fifth to tie it at 5-5, then blew the game open with a grand slam home run in the sixth.   The Falcons would not recover from that blow, as they wound up losing 12-6.  The 10 hits were the best offensive output for the Falcons thus far in 2018, but their 8 errors cost them the game and were a season-high as well.  McKenna Rickles (3), Kelsey Liddell (3) , and Sara Thibaut (2) all had multi-hit games, but also accounted for 7 of the teams' errors.  The Falcons will hope to turn things around this week when they host Lassen College for a single game on Tuesday at 1:00 pm, then travel to Marysville on Thursday for a doubleheader at Yuba College.
