The 'Jekyl and Hyde' Folsom Lake men's soccer team played both roles in their playoff match against Clovis on Tuesday evening, but couldn't overcome a two-goal deficit as they lost to the Crush, 2-1. The Falcons gave up a corner-kick goal in just the second minute of play and were forced to play catch-up almost from the start. A defensive lapse that allowed Clovis a second goal in the 23rd minute put the Falcons in a 2-0 hole, but they refused to give up. They stepped up their attack in the second half and were rewarded when freshman forward Will Seargeant put the ball in the net after a feed from midfielder Drew Swenson in the 63rd minute put the home crowd into a frenzy. The goal provided an energy boost for the Falcons, who spent the final 25 minutes peppering the Clovis goalkeeper. There were several near misses - especially in the final ten minutes - that could have easily tied the match, but it wasn't meant to be.
The Falcons finished their season at 7-9-4 while Clovis (10-9-2) advances to play at #1 seed Fresno City on Saturday.
