CRC stuns Falcon men

With the Big 8 lead on the line Friday afternoon, the Falcon men picked a bad time to play their worst game of the season and wound up losing at Cosumnes River, 3-1.  "I wish I could point to one thing," remarked FLC head coach Justin Johnson.  "We were a step behind the whole game.  We picked a bad time to play a bad game, and they (CRC) played outstanding.  I tip my cap, they took it to us."

The Falcons fell behind midway through the first half, but tied the match midway through the second half on Peyton Montiel-Villegas' goal.  The Hawks, however, answered back immediately with their own goal, and as the minutes clicked away the Falcons played in desperation mode, which did not work well for them.

The win allowed the Hawks to pull even with FLC in the Big 8 standings at 5-2-1, with Santa Rosa and American River lurking right behind at 4-2-2 and 4-3-1.  All four teams have two games left this week (Tuesday and Friday) to decide the Big 8 champion.  The Falcons will host American River on Tuesday evening (6:30 pm) at Falcon Stadium, then host Delta on Friday afternoon (3:00 pm) to wrap up the regular season.
