Falcons grab a share of Big 8 lead with win at Delta

The Falcon men traveled to Stockton on Friday afternoon to take on the always-tough Delta Mustangs and came home with a satisfying 4-0 win.  The Falcons utilized ball control and sharp passing to wear down the Mustangs, who seemed to tire as the match wore on.  Sophomore Arjan Chahal and Kameron Kascht scored first-half goals to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead at halftime.  When Kascht added another goal – his team-leading 8th of the season - early in the second half, the lead grew to 3-0.  Freshman Jalen Sharp capped the scoring at the 80 minute mark with his first goal of the season.  Arjan Chahal earned 'Man of the Match' honors with a goal and his team-leading 4th assist of the season.  Goalkeeper Josh Moya came up with several big saves, including  a stop on a penalty kick, to record his second shutout of the week and sixth individual shutout of the season.

With the win, the Falcons grabbed a share of the Big 8 Conference lead (with Cosumnes River) at the halfway point in the schedule with a 4-1 record (9-1-3 overall).  They'll travel both Tuesday and Friday this week for non-conference matches at Cañada (6-4-3 overall) and Merced (9-1-2) at 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm, respectively.
