Falcon men upend ARC with late goal to win 1-0.

As the wind died down and Tuesday transformed into a cool autumn evening in Carmichael, the Folsom Lake and American River men's soccer teams went head to head in a battle of evenly-matched teams.  The two teams neutralized each other with neither able to score for nearly the entire match until the Falcons drew a penalty in the box in the 85th minute and freshman forward Manu Rey netted the PK for the only goal of the game.  Emotions were running high for the match between the two rivals, and play was nothing short of physical.  With both defenses stopping their opponent before they could mount an attack, it seemed as though the majority of the match was played near midfield.  Both goalkeepers were stellar as well, with each recording five saves.  It would be an understatement to say the rematch at FLC on Tuesday, November 9 should be a battle of epic proportions.

The Falcons (8-1-3 overall, 3-1 in Big 8 Conference) will travel to Stockton on Friday to take on Delta (4-6-4 overal,  1-1-2 in Big 8) at 3:00 pm.
