Falcons top Skyline, 5-1

Falcons top Skyline, 5-1

The FLC men's soccer team took a break from the hot and hazy conditions in Folsom with a trip to San Bruno (So. San Francisco) on Tuesday and came home with a satisfying 5-1 victory over Skyline College.  Sophomore forward Zwannah Johnson kick-started the Falcon offense with an early goal, then finished the day with his second goal of the match - and the Falcons' last of five goals.  In between, the Falcons utilized their outside backs to perfection, opening up spaces in the middle that eventually led to goals by sophomore Arjan Chahal (21st minute), freshman Sawyer Radekin (53rd minute), and freshman Manu Rey (74th minute), his third of the season.  For scoring his first two goals of the 2021 season, Johnson earned "Man of the Match" recognition.

The men will travel up recently opened Highway 50 on Saturday to take on Lake Tahoe at 4:00 pm in South Lake Tahoe.
