Golfers win another tournament, this time by just two strokes!
The Folsom Lake golf team won their fourth straight tournament on Wednesday, although this one could hardly be considered a comfortable win. Playing on their home course at Rancho Murieta Country Club, the Falcons survived a less-than-stellar outing to defeat their chief Big 8 rival, Napa Valley, by a mere two strokes. The Falcons won despite having just two scores in the 70's, although on of those was 'Low Medalist" winner Drew Greco with a 74. Greco was a model of persistence on Wednesday; after recording a triple bogey on the very first hole, he then proceeded to play the next 17 holes at 1-under-par and record the lowest score of the day.
After finishing second to Napa Valley in the first two tournaments of the season, the Falcons have now reeled off four straight wins and have grown their lead in the Big 8 standings to 6 points at the half-way mark of the season.
